Without any doubt, is a great responsibility the protection and conservation for the future of Prehistoric Art, facet this one of the very attractive Humanity as needed efforts to reveal all its meanings. Therefore, it has won recognition by UNESCO the great values of these artistic manifestations of the past, from a double sense: as examples of human creativity of prehistoric societies and as unique documents on lifestyles and beliefs.

In short, an exciting artistic expressions of beauty and plasticity. We can be a great responsibility for their protection and conservation for the future. Responsibility always and in any case, must be shared not only by all public authorities, but also by the general public .

It is therefore necessary to define lines of action to protect this (both physical and legal), conservation, study and dissemination, while implemented with other policies of regional, regional development, especially locally. In this way, Historical Heritage will become a strategic resource for sustainable development, our collective basis and reference for social cohesion identity.

And, at this point, indicate that it is not possible to complete a process of recognition as a World Heritage Site if there is a comprehensive strategy valuation and sustainable social use of assets. The sustainable use of our heritage as an educational resource, scientific, cultural, tourist, economic ..., from a modern criteria of adequacy and sustainability of all conservative (tangible and intangible) values of the object, its environment, will be what we make it possible for ensuring long - term efficiency of all other tutela.

The richness of the natural environment surrounding these manifestations and its integration into a humanized landscape of high ecological value and, finally, the fragility and vulnerability of such sites is what lead us to the adoption of maximum measures protection so that their disclosure does not generate added to their conservation risks. Doing our expression "nothing is well valued if not well known , " we intend to reach all social corners and let them know the essence and value of our artistic heritage Rock, sensitizing them to the need for its protection, preservation and dissemination. Each one of the Spanish regions have their appearance and personality, faithful depiction of its history, which has been materialized in the various manifestations of its historical heritage: archeology, urbanism, architecture , crafts ... regardless of its artistic importance and the level of legal protection you have, the heritage of the different regions has enormous historical value and of course, affective for men and women who live there . it is these values together its proximity and accessibility, which give it its educational and tourist potential for locals and visitors.

But just to be part of everyday life, sometimes these heritage assets are not fairly valued and exploited, hence the need to promote the most of the educational and tourist use of the heritage of the region of Los Vélez, which remains a great unknown, first by the natives of the area itself, and secondly by the whole province, for those who leave the nearest half is always a great incentive. Initiatives Leader district of Vélez has assumed since its creation commitment to strengthen the tourist-didactic knowledge and use of rock art heritage of Los Vélez.

This is the sense of material as presented, they do not refer to a single capital asset, but the whole of a region, in this case the velezana, forcing to approach the study of designs of types of heritage (monumental, archaeological, etc.) and raises the need to design itineraries. Facing the timely visit to study a monument or secluded, or the typical tour "catchall" in which to take advantage of the movement, just visiting El Corte Ingles, the itinerary demands a more rigorous approach.

In this case it is to visit different economic entities including a common bond in terms of objectives, whether educational or tourist, pursued, which are those that allow to establish the thread is established.

The itinerary should be designed with a unified, global, as a set in which the different elements appear in an integrated manner. The itinerary, we propose to explain something: distribution of a phenomenon, artistic style , for example, historical evolution of a region or population ... and not just to contemplate several buildings or places on but in isolation.

In this line, it is important to introduce the study in the same space along which our route: agricultural and natural landscapes and their changes over time, urban development of towns and cities.

This resource can become this way in a good "excuse" to globalization or to the multidisciplinary approach that many difficulties presented. The prehistoric rock art and, more generally, environmental archaeological heritage with him related, are individualized as one of engines through which activate the economic and social recovery of the territory of Valcamonica (Italy) and the Spanish Levante (Massif Caroig, Aitana, county of Los Vélez, all in Spain). the common element in these two areas is the insertion of prehistoric rock art found here, on the List of World Cultural Heritage;

and being these territories concerned, because of a "regression rural economy" in need of new studies and search of alternative economic sources to stop the population in the territory, giving cultural motivations and especially economic solutions.

The Group of Rural Development of Los Vélez (Almeria) and Local Action Groups Aitana (Alicante), Massif Caroig (Valencia) and Valcamonica (Italy) have been meeting and working since January 1999. They have been two meetings in which there was an exchange of ideas and culture, where the partners have been able to discover the great existing archaeological wealth in partner territories and the degree of progress carried out in each territory in protection, conservation and promotion of rock art . After several meetings it concludes that it is essential the appreciation of rock art we have in our territories if we want to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of rural areas and the creation of jobs.

Being areas where it is starting to develop domestic tourism rock art can be a great complementary offer along with the rest of natural, cultural and heritage resources. Both meetings have enabled the partners reach agreement on as for the possibility of a project together, all pursue the objectives pampering and although some are a little more advanced than others in the degree of protection, this will serve as an example for other partners who can advance your work with the experience of other groups. the first phase of the project has been very positive with a high level of communication between partners and a desire to continue actions so that finally can make known rock art of the partners involved in the project to the rest of Europe.

Valuing, according to a common strategy, the prehistoric rock art present in associated areas.

- To transfer knowledge in the design of infrastructure and promotion activities and dissemination.

- To establish cultural and educational exchanges between participating areas by developing joint projects.

- Edit graphic and audiovisual material that allows diffusion and joint projection of the zones.
